Dislikes

-when the birds are too loud....my ears are very sensitive!

When I was a child, I was completely obsessed with big fluffy cats. I can honestly say I’ve wanted one since these since Royal toilet paper commercials showed on TV....the ones with the baby persians on them. I would literally squeal at the sight of it!

When I finally moved out on my own into a condo, I decided it was time for one. I did a pile of research and found two ladies who ran a cattery called ‘Katzanova Cattery’. They raised himilayans, not persians. Himilayans, for those who don’t know, are a cross between siamese and persian cats. The smarts and loyalty of the siamese and the docile sweet nature of the persion was impossible to resist....and of course the color tipped legs ears and paws were adorable. Need I even mention the beautiful baby blue eyes?

I watched him online until he was old enough to go home....the ladies would send me pictures and it was apparent that this cat was an oddity....some serious personality. I had originally chosen his brother because he was a seal point (which was the same as my pet bunny, Cuddles, at the time) but after they sent me a pic of them together, the brattiness REALLY stuck out on Theodore Mittens....that and I figured a different color would be nice too.

When I arrived at the cattery to pick him up, I almost died at the sight: little baby fluff balls rolling around everywhere, playing, etc....oh my gosh! I saw his brother and just LOVED him. When I asked where Theo was, they pointed over to the cat play gym. There he was, away from all the others and by himself....climbing like a monkey and near taking down the curtains! For a moment I was wondering if I had picked the wrong kitten! He wanted nothing to do with his siblings. Oh but no sooner did the tiny thing fall asleep in my hands in the car after yelling for an hour and I knew then it was love!

Mittens is like no other cat I have ever met. I know it’s not just me who thinks this either, as everyone who meets him and gets to know him, knows this well. Sometimes I wonder if in his past life he was a little genius. An odd one at that.
You’d have to know him to fully witness it:D
