Whoever said you were too young/old to live that dream..... Curry Hammock,
       Florida Keys ....was wrong!

What??  Labour day has whizzed us by and it’s getting dark too early for my liking.  It feels like I haven’t had a chance to breathe or sit down after this past weekend.  Guests over and out, just finally finished off all the dishes.  Not to mention catching up on all the bills and work that we let slide.  And there always seems to be something else to take care of…  this lifestyle forces you to become a handyman (or woman, don’t want to get slugged!)
Some bad news to report too…  my dog Chipper (back home in PEI) has cancer and the outlook is bleak, at least three masses in his abdomen.  He had stopped eating and my parents took him to the vet.  The vet said in most cases he’d put the dog down right then but Chipper wanted out of there and chewed off the IV.  Exploratory surgery was an option but the name alone…  well the vet warned that the odds aren’t very good.  He’s 11 years old, a purebred Siberian Husky.  Now Chipper is a special dog, part of the family, he’s a total show-off, he trots and greets every person he meets with an “aroo.”  Chipper wanted to go home and that’s where he is.  He has been enjoying human food, mostly fish, and Mom even baked biscuits and muffins for him.  The vet gave medication for 10 days.  He has his ups and downs, so long as he is not in pain.  I doubt we’ll make it to PEI in time, commitments and appointments to adhere to in Ontario.

Chipper on your left, Shiva on your right....

On a lighter note, we went to Casino Rama on Saturday, it was Cat’s aunt’s birthday.  And I lost $50 at blackjack…  well I played for a bit and lost it all in one hand.  The dealer was showing a 3, I had 11, double down baby!  With my luck, I get a deuce and the dealer hit 18.  A good way to lose double the money.  Lucky at love instead.
Now our current problem…   wasps.  Yesterday morning we heard all this buzzing outside the bedroom window.  It was so loud it was keeping us awake at 6am.  Then we catch a wasp sneaking into the storage compartment.  Take a look…  don’t see him or where he went.  No nests yet anyway.  So far today I have destroyed 2 wasps INSIDE!  The first squeezed in past the bedroom screen this morning…  WHAPP! It fell in by the bed, dead.  Then this afternoon, Cat was eating a TV dinner, I yell “wasp.”  She jumps, the peas on her fork were launched over the couch!  I grab the bug zapper and make short work of him.  The panel on the screen door had been left open a crack, I guess that was an invitation.  We’ll be off to get some spray.  Anyone know any tricks for keeping wasps away?      Bee-ware!
