Whoever said you were too young/old to live that dream..... Curry Hammock,
       Florida Keys ....was wrong!

Well so far so good with the ants. They aren’t just ‘everywhere’ now (like 4 on this wall, 5 on the kitchen floor, 2 on the fridge, 6 on the kitchen table and 3 in the bathroom…etc)….
However, they do seem to have taken over the fridge area. Not in the fridge thankfully (or you’d see Bryan freak out this time). They seem to be coming out of the cracks where the fridge meets the wall, which makes us both wonder where the heck they are coming from. We also had to empty out the spice cabinet, as they seemed to be ‘appearing out of nowhere’ from the woodwork. Bryan got in there last night with the glue gun and sealed up the places where the wall meets the shelves. So far so good. He was starting to get a little more bothered by them than I;-) See, as long as things are ‘contained’ for me, I feel in control. With Bryan, it’s all about the protection of his beloved food….LOL!

As for the carpenter ants, I’ve only been finding one a night, just wondering around. They look confused. Can ants look confused? I guess they can! I think I have a horrible phobia of them. The little ones don’t scare me at all (I just can’t stand swarms of them). But the big ones….one is enough to give me a head rush. When you grab them with a kleenex they make a popping noise too….and that’s how you know they are still alive, so you have to smoosh ‘em more! I’ve been getting a guilt complex lately after all the killing I’ve been doing. I can’t even kill a fly, but these ants have been driving me THAT nuts. Thankfully, they are going away. Hooray for Terro Baits!
In other news we saw the Space Shuttle Launch last night. We made it to Melbourne Beach for the viewing….just….WOW. It looked like the sun was coming back up….spectacular. I’ve waited my whole life to see it. I can’t wait for my turn to be shot out there! I took a video of it, but it’s kinda shaky because I was so intent on seeing it with my real eyes;-)

And lastly, I’d like to say that I LOVE Verizon. The satellite issue was really getting to us. MSN messenger wouldn’t stay connected, service would cut on and off, not to mention the pain of setting it up everywhere….even if just for a night. We decided to take a look at the Verizon plans and we’re so glad we did! Phone and internet in one….sweet;-)
I picked up one of those new ‘Chocolate’ phones in black. Right now we have the $39.99 plan which allows calling anywhere in the US (no roaming, no long distance - 450 anytime min and free evenings and weekends). When we head up to Canada, we’re going to change that plan to the North American one so we can use it in Canada. Neither of us thought this was possible! So now we have a permanent phone that we can use in both places. Sweet! Oh, and it’s got a Cocoa Beach number to boot;-)

As for the internet side of it, it’s $59.99 for unlimited. Holy heck, I can use it ANYWHERE….on the highway, at the beach. It takes literally 3 seconds to connect and with the Mac I can also connect via Bluetooth. Why we didn’t do this before, I have no idea. The speeds are amazing so far, and the connection stays put. Oh, and my MSN messenger doesn’t cut out anymore, so I’m a happy camper:-)
It’s also great incase I forget my iPod….this things holds music as well as pictures and video. I’m completely obsessed with my sleek little Chocolate buddy….! You’ve got to love technology!
The only downside to this….I don’t think the internet side of it will work in Canada:-( So back to the satellite it is! Hopefully in the future, things will advance….
In other news, I talked to someone at KZ the other day (thanks Bob!) and found out where we can get our stuff fixed. The AC, and the power cord reel need a fixing, and I’ll have them also look at the grey water pull valve which is acting up, as well as that moldy piece of wood on the back of the outdoor shower! Once that’s all done, we’re set. All we need now is our washer/dryer before I go bonkers! The only camping world near us is in Orlando I think. So, just over one more week of using campground washers until my parents come down….haha! I’ll be over at their unit everyday doing wash….lucky them! After that, we’ll have to drive out and get our own:-P
Anyways, off to pack up for our departure tomorrow. We’ll be heading back up towards Cocoa Beach again to meet my parents. Hooray for more surfing:-D Well, between the website work we have to do….we’re almost done!!
:-)
Edit: After I suggested a few times to check in behind the fridge for the ants (from the outside hatch), Bryan went to have a look. Sure enough, another ant nest! A nice spray of raid took care of them! So that’s THREE different ant nests after a weeks stay at one campground….ACK! The little ones are under control but I have found three carpenter ants today in the bedroom. I guess Mittens can take credit for one of them! Nasty things…*shudders*. I wonder if we’re going to have to take more serious measures. Last thing we need is a chewed up Mr. Escalade! Mmmm, technology!
