Whoever said you were too young/old to live that dream..... Curry Hammock,
       Florida Keys ....was wrong!

Hey, we had absolutely no idea how big a deal Thanksgiving is down here.  It is the ultimate US holiday it appears.  Absolutely every RV site was booked for the weekend.  And everything is closed on Thanksgiving day, even most fast food restaurants.  We ended up in the ”overflow” parking at Jetty Park in Cape Canaveral.

Mittens watching the sunset in the overflow at Jetty Park.

That’s right, we made it to our destination, Cat’s beloved Cocoa Beach.  We just had to rough it without power for a couple days.  Good thing for the generator, it was enough to charge the battery, and watch a bit of TV.  But it’s hard to get settled when you’re in temp spots so we ended up at Manatee Hammock, just a few minutes from where they launch the shuttles.  Took a drive by to see the Space Centre but had to pull a “U”ey to avoid the “Restricted Area.”  Come on, haven’t they launched monkeys into space?
All right, so here is another section: what differences we have encountered between here and the Northern land.  Well Bob, I think the prices are higher here, there are different hot dogs, orange trees, palmettos, and a mad number of buffets.  No wonder everybody is getting pudgy…  even KFC has a buffet!  That is ill news America, now I’m talking like Bernie Mac.
I’m finally relaxed right now, we’re stopped here for a week.  Cat has been a little let down by Florida so far.  Can blame that on the weather again.  It was cool when we arrived, by Florida standards, and now it has been raining on and off.  But it sure beats -40 celsius, which my brother is enduring in Calgary.  Meanwhile, we’ve hit Ron Jon’s surf shop and equipped with body boards have enjoyed some nice waves.  And you can’t beat the roar of the ocean and the view of the palm trees.

Yes, we get lots of questions doing what we do and such.  One I like is:  When/ where are you going to settle down?
Answer:  We’re not!  At least not in the foreseeable future.  I haven’t seen enough places yet to know where I’d like to spend it the most.  But we’ll let you know when/if we get there.
Or maybe we’ll just keep on exploring....
The long weekend
