Whoever said you were too young/old to live that dream..... Curry Hammock,
       Florida Keys ....was wrong!

If I wasn’t stressed out already, this has done it!
After spending the last week or two selling the things I was (half) willing to part with, I realized today that it was only 1/20 of the work we have set out for us. After my friend Julie picked up our bed (and the soon to be missed memory foam mattress), we figured it was time to get things going concerning sorting/packing.
We moved everything out of the bedroom and will be putting everything back in that we are either keeping in storage, or taking with us. Doing things this way will force us to keep the load down….I hope. Gotta fight the urge to pile things to the ceiling is all:P HA!
I realized today what has half been causing my panic attacks concerning lack of breath and dizziness. It’s ALLERGIES. At least, it’s allergies to the dust. For the last few days, while things were settling down, I’ve been able to breathe and feel ‘normal’. After stirring things up today, both of us started to feel congested, short of breath, dizzy, and super tired. I won’t even mention the headache. The dust in here must be something fierce, and I’m sure the cat fur isn’t helping matters much. Even more of a reason to get out in nature and enjoy the fresh air!
Other than that, we’ve been working on our budget, trying to figure out what we need to purchase before we pack up and set out.
We need:
-washer/dryer ($1500)
-satellite internet ($6000 including set up)
-hitch for truck ($3000)
-Insurance ($600 for first and last month)
-generator ($5000 - we might have to wait until the fall!)
We want:
-screen enclosure for awning ($500)
-mini dishwasher ($300)
I know there’s more, but my head is heavy, and I have to force myself to work at this mess. We’re heading out to PEI in two weeks to visit Bryans family (where he can make some extra cash fishing with his dad!), and after that there is literally no more time to do much packing. I still have boxes stored out at my parents work that I need to go through. After that, we have to move everything we’re keeping to a storage facility.
Overwhelmed but excited. I keep telling myself that this is all for something wonderful….even when I feel like ripping my hair out. I’ve done the hardest thing so far, when it comes to *me*. That is, part with material possessions! I grow attachments to everything, and I thrive on ‘things’ that are ‘mine’. This is a real learning experience. While it’s tough, it’s almost liberating.
“You buy furniture. You tell yourself, this is the last sofa I will ever need in my life. Buy the sofa, then for a couple years you’re satisfied that no matter what goes wrong, at least you’ve got your sofa issue handled. Then the right set of dishes. Then the perfect bed. The drapes. The rug. Then you’re trapped in your lovely nest, and the things you used to own, now they own you.” - Fight Club

And with that, some pictures of the catastrophy that is my condo….
(After some progress, mind you!)

This is actually an improvement in the front hallway….

Living room looks better, but still in a mess!

Only 1/4 of my clothes are on the futon.
At least the bedroom is cleared out though!

                                                                                               UGH….another living room shot.

                         Double UGH….

                                                                                                 The office/music room, Mess!

The only place somewhat tidy is the balcony!

                                                                                   Mittens will miss it too!

Well, back to work, let’s do it up! Catagory 5 in the condo! Evacuation in progress....
