Sinking into the recliner....

Needed to sit down after all the excitement, take some time to keep you all up to date. I can’t think in all the chaos. It is a pain in the neck moving things a second time, we brought a load of junk over from storage. Whoa, I’ll back up a bit, yes, we picked up “Mr. Escalade” on Friday. We had to rush back from Toronto Friday morning, the dealer was to haul the temp trailer away between 10 and 11. And of course, Cat was slow getting ready, as usual, so we were short on time getting the trailer cleared of all proof of our stay:P Goodbye Terry, Hello KZ! Inspected the new rig, and all we found was a burnt out light bulb and the rear stabilizer jacks needed a little grease. Signed the papers then we were good as gold. It was show time, my first time towing a fifth wheel. And the Escalade is long, very long, 37 ft. But it towed very well, just had to adjust the brake controller a bit to make it a smooth braking experience. Cat loved pulling into the campground with the Escalade, she eats up the attention. Still waiting for her to get her license! No problem backing into our site. We were short on some items… needed 2×6’s to level the 5er, well, we’re almost level. Went to connect the power but I couldn’t get the cable, it is electric release. No power to the switch. Between us, we finally found the battery connect. Then the sewer and water hoses would not reach. Ok, run to store, connect water, and the holding tanks would make do for the time being. It was time to start settling in, turned on the fridge, put food away. But where was all our food?? Brilliant… we forgot to empty the food out of the cupboard on the temp trailer that was back to its lot. There was alcohol in there too! Fortunately it was all still there when we checked the dealer the next day. Too much excitement for one day.
