Whoever said you were too young/old to live that dream..... Curry Hammock,
       Florida Keys ....was wrong!

Well I was right….I had a feeling this would happen. I decided to take matters into my own hands because I felt the dealer was not being completely honest with us. I call KZ up, only to learn that the Escalade is still being made!!!! It doesn’t come off the line until the 26th, and then needs to be painted. It could be a week late, or even two, depending on how the border crossing goes.
At least SOMEONE was honest with me. Was the dealer going to wait until the last min to tell us? I guess so. Very nice indeed. They told me 8 weeks for delivery when in reality, it’s 10 according to KZ. Great!
When I called the dealer up and told him I talked to KZ he said: ‘Oh, we just got the fax today about it being late’. Yeah, oooookay….haha. Right. The conversation went something like this:
Me: Oh, that’s no good. We’re out of a place at the end of the month, my parents may be moving, and the only friends we can stay with are moving too, so we have no place to go really, with all our things.
Dealer: Well, we could set you up in a trailer for the time being....
Me: Can you DO that? Really?!
Dealer: Well no, but I can.
Me: Ok, that would be great then!
Dealer: I can’t talk about it right now because I am dealing with a big problem over here. We can touch base on Monday though.
At this point, I feel like asking: YOUR big problem? Um, THIS is a big problem dude!
Me: Ok. Well, one more question….where would this trailer be put?
Dealer: We can bring it to a campground for you around here.
Me: Ok, see, the thing is, I have one reserved for July and I don’t know if I will get charged for changing it or not….
Dealer: Where is it at? Around Toronto?
Me: No, it’s up in Orillia….
Dealer: Uhhh….well….I don’t know. We can bring it somewhere around Toronto. But we’ll talk about it on Monday.
Me: Ok, thank you! Talk to you then!
Ok, this sucks. BOO HISS. GRRRR.
I have no idea what to do. I had to reschedule the satellite installation as well….for a date I don’t know yet. I’ve also emailed the campground in Orillia to see our options and if we could have it for August instead and probably part of September. I really wanted to be in Orillia for July because everything happens then.
And now, what to do with all our stuff? We’re not going to load them in one trailer for possibly only a week, and in something that they probably will not fit in. Will I have to store it all somewhere? I don’t even know if it has AC, so I guess Mittens will have to stay with my parents, which is super bad for him….he won’t eat when away from me. I’ll HAVE to be in Toronto. I just don’t know when to do anything….satellite, washer and dryer installation….etc etc. My god, try and find a good campground to book right before the holiday weekend….THAT will be the big problem I think.
And what if the Escalade shows up on time or a couple of days in? Should I be giving up my prime spot in Orillia for the month of July?
I need to be sedated. That Ativan is looking really good right now!

I forgot to mention, after 3 hours and several ‘locations’ (aka, being referred from one place to another), and paying off $500 in fines, I finally find out that I have to retake my ENTIRE license again. Why? Because I waited JUST over three years to get it back. In February of this year I would have been fine. This means, I only get to have a G1 for a year and have to drive with someone in the truck….then I have to take two road tests spread out in the year, and then I’ll get my G2….after that I’ll make sure to get my G this time. I hate the Ontario government offices, but I hate cops who pick on cute blondes more:-(
