Whoever said you were too young/old to live that dream..... Curry Hammock,
       Florida Keys ....was wrong!

Lately, I’ve been looking around online at other fulltimers budgets. Wow. The way I’ve figured things for us keeps changing….and I know it always ends up more than originally planned for. That’s a scary thing….
We’ve narrowed it down about $3000 a month. So far, we’ve paid off *cough*most*cough* debts, and now we can work on just bills and putting money aside for emergencies. VERY IMPORTANT.
Besides the RV and truck payments (yikes), there are also the campground fees, food, entertainment, gas, insurance, internet, phone, etc. This really starts to add up. It will be quite managable after we get a few necessary items. On our list is:
Disc Break Payment - $3500
Hitch - $1800
Washer/Dryer - $1600
Satellite Internet Setup - $7000
New panel for poor Calvin - $2000
Step for Calvin (because I’ve almost broken my neck a few times now, and I’m TALL!) - $500++++?
The ‘Add A Room’ (yes, it’s a MUST for us….and the cat!) - $700++++??
Generator - $5000++++
RV 50amp Surge Protector - $600
Break Controller - $300
Second A/C - I have no idea but I am guessing a lot?
This doesn’t include the other things that I’m needing/wanting to get for the unit. 5th wheel stabilizer, kitchen supplies, new locks for doors and outdoor storage, security stuff, patio accessories, mini dishwaher, little carpet steamer….etc….etc….
Of course, we want to pay the Escalade off ASAP. After that, we can purchase a small property somewhere (BC?) so that we always have a place to go no matter what. Come on money tree, lottery, etc, etc!
It’s worth it though. Gotta save for something that means a lot, and will eventually be a great and most needed change in our lives. The city is making me sick, I can’t breath in the air anymore, I can’t stand the rush hour panic, I can’t stand the ’system’. Suddenly everything I once loved about the city is now left in a distant cloud of dust. A dust cloud full of smog and stuck up yuppies!
I’m wondering if I was ever a city girl after all. Bryan brought up a good point today, which makes me think it was all just a phase. I’ve always been an outdoor person in the not SO distant past….boating, camping….very much a ‘nature girl’, etc. And suddenly after a few years in this cement hole, I find myself becoming worn out, sick, jittery, restless, and high strung. The indoors DOES drive me nuts….I guess that has always been the case.
Besides all of this, I’d hate to see where I would have been without Bryan in my life. I don’t even want to think about it. I do believe we met at the right time to save each other from a life of unhappincess where we were certainly both headed….and now an adventure that neither of us would have imagined in our wildest dreams! Things just worked out. Hopefully we can ride the inertia for as far as it can go!
In other news, I’m getting every single business site of mine updated and working perfectly. On the road, I’m sure every last cent will make a difference.
-Photography that I can hopefully sell (so many beautiful places to inspire!).
-Charms that I can do for people who want their RV/pet/grandchildren/etc on them.
-Hosting and websites for those campgrounds who may be looking for someone to do the job!
-I’m wondering now if I can still do my hair extensions on the road….that would be wonderful!
Bryan, of course, will still be doing his trading. He’s getting better and better, we just need a little more to play with….not risking it now though:D
Quite a few options….wonder if we can make it work out perfectly. Only time will tell….
The only last piece of news is that the Escalade is going to arrive around the 15th of July. We will be getting a temp rig from the dealer until it comes in….and will have to stay somewhere other than Orillia until then. The folks at the Orillia campground have been very cool about it all….can’t wait to get to the awesome site mid July! I guess we’ll be staying near the dealer until then….possibly in Milton or Kitchener. We’ll know at the end of the week….
….and now back to packing. It makes me insane, but poor Bryan is doing it on his own while I roll around on the couch stuffing my face with food and whining about it. Not cool, and not a way to get in shape for the summer.
Oh wait. It IS the summer now!!!! Crap.
