Whoever said you were too young/old to live that dream..... Curry Hammock,
       Florida Keys ....was wrong!

I’m not sure how I knew his name, but I did. It dawned on me when I walked out of the coffee shop on the way back to Toronto from Kingston after picking him up. Calvin….he just….looked like one:D
The entire day was a blur of excitement….we drove through the worst rain ever, and I was torn between worrying about crashing on the way there, or whether or not I would be able to have the chance to try the sunroof out in the sunshine!
When we drove up to the dealership, it was obvious which one was ours. He was beautiful, even if he is a truck (I have always liked trucks better than cars, hence my first vehicle, a Ford Ranger Splash! aka, ‘Eugene Truckie’!). I can’t even describe how happy I am with our choice, and I’m sure Bryan agrees;-)

See? Sunroof, how I love thee….

                                                                  We’re super happy!

So, today we headed out to a storage place out west after dropping Bryans friend Trevor off at the airport for his flight back to PEI. Big thanks to him for being a super salesman and landing us the wonderful Calvin;-)
Calvin rides like a dream….so smooth. Bryan was nervous and cautious the first day (hey, it’s intimidating!), but today he was cool and calm, and it seemed second nature to drive something so big. Yeah, wait until a 37′ trailer is hooked on the back!
Of course, I am SUPER jealous, not having my license and all. Monday, I will be in a mad rush to get it back and should have my G2 permit soon. Ugh, it’s torture. I drove it for two seconds in a parking lot, and it was simply not enough. So awesome!
When out west, my parents picked up their Ford. It’s pretty funny that we both have a different make….that should raise some eyebrows! We’ll see which one holds up best;-) I was neutral between the two, so I guess I can give an honest opinion.

The Ford is bigger. A bit taller, and a bit longer. Inside, it wasn’t too much of a size difference. Both trucks have the leather interior, and I personally found the Chevy WAY more comfortable (front seats) ….everyone agreed. The Ford also had a more ‘open concept’ when it came to the front seats and the console in the middle. Very ‘TRUCK-ish’, yet nice and ‘rich’ looking with the wood like accents. Something my parents will appreciate:P The Chevy was more sleek and car like….a bit more ‘homey’. We have the dark grey interior, and my parents have the beige that matches the Lariats two toned beige on the outside at the bottom. I found that overall, Chevy was more consistent with the ‘bells and whistles’ which I really didn’t expect. It was all the little things I guess. Overall both units we’re beautiful. One thing that REALLY did stand out as a HUGE difference between the two, is the engine noise level. Our Chevy is super quiet….you can barely hear it at all inside. The Ford however, is a whole different story….it lets you know it’s presence!!!! My parents don’t mind it, but I know it would get on my nerves. When I’m listening to music, I’m all about sound quality, and a roaring engine would really get in the way, haha! Both trucks came equipped with the same options all in all….except we have the sunroof and XM radio. Oh, and the two separate keychains that are numbered and when the drivers side is opened with a certain one, all that particular drivers settings lock in! (Na na na na) < / end childish taunting>
And a pic of the backs. More of Calvin in the ‘Our Rig’ section.

Now….just waiting (still) on the delivery of our Escalade. Hurry up already!!!!
:D A truck named Calvin!
